I have been to many top clubs over the years but few can
match Taste for a consistent good atmosphere and a guaranteed bangin' night out. I have some fond memories from my times there.
Fisher & Price always rock the place and with guests like Dave Seaman and Anne Savage you know it's gonna be good. If
you've never been, I highly recommend it.
Mark Price & Brian Fisher first met as clubbers in ‘92
and started DJ-ing together soon afterwards. Over the next two years they built themselves a reputation as skilful mixers
at private and after-club parties. Their standing soon brought invitations to play at some of the capital's bigger venues
where they rapidly gathered a loyal following among the city's most dedicated hedonists and coolest clubbers. It wasn’t long before the opportunity came for Fisher & Price to start their
own night - Taste for Extroverts and Perverts. Taste's reputation grew - mainly through word of mouth - and has since developed
into one of the most successful nights in Scotland. With Fisher & Price in residence every Sunday, and guest DJs asked
to play just once a month, it is clear that the club's character and atmosphere have been built on their considerable DJ talents.
Fisher & Price's musical style covers everything from vocal garage to
funky house to deeper, harder house, but they are renowned for their end-of-night anthems and hands-in-the-air madness. They
can’t help inspiring any dance floor onwards and upwards. With their reputation secure in Scotland, Fisher & Price
are now represented by Unlimited DJs in the rest of the UK and further afield. They have recently played their first gigs
overseas in Moscow, Melbourne and Ibiza. If their success here is anything to go by it won't be long before their names spread
even further. Throughout their career they have had the honour of appearing alongside some of the world’s best known
DJs including Tony De Vit, Dimitri, Justin Robertson, Dave Seaman, Rob Di Stefano, Mark Moore, Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan,
Sander Kleinenberg, Tall Paul and their very good friend and Taste resident, Jon Pleased.
So there you have it. Mark Price in the mix. Enjoy !
2008 has been a particularly difficult year for clubbing in Edinburgh with most weekend club
nights reporting a 50% drop in numbers compared to the previous year, and now that the credit crunch is beginning to have
an effect, people seem to be staying in more, or are choosing to go to special events instead of regular weekend club nights.
This has affected Fever quite badly over the last 6 months as all of our nights have clashed with big events such as Loch
Ness, Loch Lomond, T In The Park and so on. To avoid this happening again next year we plan to move Fever to a different week
of the month after March 2009, we will give you more details once we have confirmed the dates.
This Saturday 6 December
@ Luna is the last Fever of 2008 with DJs Fisher & Price and Kaupuss Entry is £7 or £5 with a discount flyer. Doors open
at 11pm. We also have a pre-club party at The Street from 10pm with DJ Miss Chris. Ask Chris for discount passes for Fever.
The
next Taste night is our 15th Annual Escape Xmas Party on Thursday 25th December at The GRV in Guthrie Street. For those of
you have not been to The GRV before, the club is situated on the top floor of the old Wilkie House (now Faith) with its
own entrance half way down the stairs in Guthrie Street. The venue consists of two rooms: a very cool little bar and a main
hall which is roughly the same size as the old Wilkie House dance floor.
When The GRV first opened they had problems
with noise complaints and lack of air-conditioning but the space has recently been refurbished and soundproofed. New air-conditioning
has been installed and the sound system has been beefed up so everything is now in place to make sure our night goes off with
a bang.
We’ve decided not to sell advance tickets this year to try and keep costs to a minimum but you will be
able to book yourselves and your friends in by using the advance booking facility on the Taste web site www.taste-clubs.com. And no booking fee !!!!!
DJs for the night are Fisher & Price and Miss Chris. The club
runs from 11pm-5am, entry is £8 members £10 non-members. Book online or pay on the door.
The first Taste night of 2009
is our New Year’s Day Party at The Liquid Room on Thursday 1st January. This is traditionally one of our best nights
of the year - more and more clued up people are choosing not to go to a club night on Hogmanay because it’s virtually
impossible to get a taxi home afterwards, the entrance fees are usually extortionate, and the streets are full of drunken
idiots. All these reasons make New Year’s Day a much more appealing time to go out. So if you are wise, make sure you
save yourselves for 1 January and join us at The Liquid Room.
DJs for the night are Fisher & Price and Miss Chris.
The club runs from 11pm-5am, entry is £8 members £10 non-members. Book online or pay on the door.
